The new Suzanne Brockmann!
With 2008 coming to a close, I’ve seen numerous “best of” lists, most of which feature books I’ve read over the past year. While I am pleased to see these authors receive well-deserved recognition, I am already looking ahead to the 2009 releases.

In particular, I’m eagerly awaiting the January 27th release of Suzanne Brockmann’s Dark of Night. Seriously, the end of January can not come fast enough. I feel as if I have been waiting forever to read the follow up to Brockmann’s Into the Fire.
Why so excited? Dark of Night is Sophia and Decker’s story. If you haven’t read the previous installments in Brockmann’s Troubleshooter series this may not mean much to you (run to the nearest bookstore and buy all thirteen novels ASAP!). However, I’ve found that romance fans (myself included) often read book after book in a series waiting for that one book where two characters you’ve been following for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of pages realize what you as the reader knew all along—that they were destined to be together.
Dark of Night is one of the many, many titles I can’t wait to read in 2009. In the world of historical romances, I am highly anticipating Seduced at Midnight by Jacquie D’Alessandro, Confessions of a Little Black Gown by Elizabeth Boyle, and This Duchess of Mine by Eloisa James—just to name a few.
What’s on your “can’t wait to read” list?

I am with you! Especially on Elizabeth Boyle’s (but, oh, there are TWO — Black Dress and Red Gown — back to back releases… lucky, lucky us) and with Eloisa’s. I plan to launch a campaign to get a copy of Jemma’s story early. I have been known to get my hands on ARCs from time to time. Mu-ha-ha!
Yours in anticipation…
